H.H. Dow High School’s The Charge, FIRST Robotics Team Visits XALT Energy

On May 31, 2018 H.H. Dow High School’s The Charge FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics team visited XALT Energy. The Charge’s focus is to design, build and test a large-scale robot for regional, state and international competitions. Together, the team builds skills in the areas of business, communications, fundraising, electrical engineering mechanical engineering and programming to compete in competitions. This club gives the students opportunities to work with mentors with industry experience to gain hands-on technical and teamwork skills.

FIRST Robotics teams are sponsored by local businesses. During the visit to XALT Energy, we presented The Charge with a check to become their newest sponsor.

During the 2018 season, The Charge made it to the Worlds competition in Detroit, MI. During the competition, the team presented a technical seminar titled, “Understanding Batter Testing for Optimal Robot Performance”. While at XALT Energy, The Charge had the opportunity to present their seminar to XALT team members.

XALT Energy was very impressed with The Charge and the work they have completed on their robot and for their technical seminar. We wish them good luck with their 2019 season!
